In 2021, I founded The Sakina Charity in response to an existential crisis. My journey began when I visited Pakistan in 2019, returning after 13 years. The poverty, unsanitary conditions, inadequate healthcare, and young children begging on the streets or working instead of attending school left me emotionally and psychologically devastated. Witnessing these hardships put my own privileged American life into perspective.
I cycled through all the stages of grief for my country, except Acceptance. I couldn’t accept this reality for the children and the future of Pakistan. Determined to make a difference, no matter how small, I established my non-profit organization. I named it after my grandmother, Sakina Bibi, a kind, generous, and charitable person. I believe I inherited her compassionate traits.
Mrs. Irm Sattar
Founder & President
Irm Sattar is a compassionate Medical professional, humanitarian, and philanthropist. She had spent most of her adult life in charitable works and contributions. Her mission in life is to bring dignity to impoverished children and provide them with a bright future through quality education and healthcare.
Mrs. Fariha Faisal
Pakistan Projects Coordinator/Liasion
Fariha Faisal is a well know Fashion Designer (Studio by Fay), Motivational Speaker/Influencer, and cancer survivor. She is a spokesperson for the patients at Shaukat Khannum Cancer Hospital and serves numerous charities in Pakistan.
Mrs. Hashmat Effendi
Board of Directors
Mrs. Effendi is the Founder and Executive Director of The House of Charity; a world renowned Charity that has helped thousands of suffering children around the world. Her invaluable work had been recognized by the Government of Pakistan and the City of Houston, Texas.
Mrs. Amna Haq Sattar
Board of Directors
Director of Marketing and Innovation at Crescent Halal Foods. Mrs. Sattar is responsible for coordinating refugee programs in the DFW area and has played a critical role in developing and implementing programs to enhance the social development of local area youth.
